4 reasons why you must attend The Amari Open Day & Bakers Fair

We’re very excited to be holding our first event for bakers in Nairobi and our first open day for Amari. The Amari Open Day and Bakers Fair will be held this Saturday on December 17th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Friends Church Grounds off Ngong Rd (Prestige area).

We are so grateful to our students, supporters and fans and this is the only way we can think of expressing our gratitude and giving back to them. This is a free event; there’s no price at the gate. We will also be holding a Raffle competition, we will be giving the winners baking tools and classes. For the raffle competition though – you have to sign up before the day of the event and you also have to be present to win the prize announced. This is an event for home bakers, small baking business owners and any individual who wants to know more about the baking industry in Kenya. We will have vendors present on that day to showcase their wares; which will also be on sale. We will have cake baking, decoration demonstrations, as well as Q&A sessions with a home baker and a small discussion on how to start up a small baking business in Kenya.

If you’re not decided on whether to attend or not…let me share with you just a few reasons why you must not miss this event if you are in the baking industry or intend to know more about it.

1) You get to meet baking equipment, cake accessories & ingredients vendors

If you’re new in the industry or you’re just starting a small baking business; you need to know where to buy your equipment, supplies and ingredients at better prices – as opposed to supermarkets and other regular shops. These vendors specialize in stocking items specifically suited to bakers at very good prices. You can also come that day prepared to purchase those goods as well. Examples of what will be available are baking tins, measuring & mixing baking tools, cake decoration tools, cake boxes & boards, food colors, icing sugar, cocoa powder, sprinkles, charcoal ovens, etc. Make sure you come prepared to make purchases ^_^

2) We will be having awesome demonstrations

We will have a rose flower sugar craft demonstration by the lovely Evelyn Gichuki of Purple Sugarcraft who is a certified sugar craft expert. She’ll also be taking questions about her work and you can get to find out the types of classes she holds and if you can join them.
