Amari Online Baking and decoration classes in 2020

During this time of social distancing and a government directive to avoid close-contact gathering; we have had to postpone our physical and practical classes; just to ensure safety for all, including our instructors.

We at Amari haven’t stopped sharing baking, decoration and baking for business knowledge though; we’re just doing it in a different way – Online.

If you’re looking for ways of learning or improving your baking or cake decoration; we have various options for you, online you can use. We also have a YouTube channel where we share lots of baking, business advice and decoration tutorials as well – Amari YouTube Channel. We’re also on Instagram and Facebook where we share tons of info and updates on current classes on those profiles as well – if you don’t, please follow us.

Cookies, Yeast & Puff Pastries Class: May 1st to June 30th. Topics Covered: Bread (home-made & commercial), Buns/Scones (home-made & commercial), Hot dog buns, Burger buns, Donuts, Pretzels, Bagels, Croissants, Puff pastry dough & products: Palmiers, Meat Pies & Sausage rolls. Sugar Cookies, Lady finger cookies, Meringue cookies, Short bread, Chocolate chip cookies and Coconut Macaroons (*Please note these are not ‘Macarons’).

Class videos will only be available for that duration of time; after that you will no longer have access. You will get all recipes for the class as files that you can save or print. Cost is Kshs. 1,000 – pay to Lipa na Mpesa, Buy Goods till no. to access the class. It’s held in a Private Facebook group which you will be invited to. Deadline for intake for this class is May 5th; after that we will no longer take in more students.

Basic-Intermediate Cake & Decoration Class: May 1st to June 30th. Topics covered:Vanilla Chocolate Chip cake, Chocolate Fudge, Red Velvet, Cherry cake, Light and Rich Fruit cakes. Black and White Forrest cakes, Chiffon cake. Decoration: Whipped Cream (fresh & non-dairy), Buttercream frosting (American), Royal Icing and Glaze Ganache. Techniques: Forrest cakes assembly, Writing on cake, Piping and cake borders, Chocolate cage, Drips on cakes, How to decorate a 1Kg cake order. Edible print and how to decorate tall cakes.

Class videos will only be available for that duration of time; after that you will no longer have access. You will get all recipes for the class as files that you can save or print. Cake Decoration Online Class: May 11th to July 11th. Topics Covered:American Buttercream (advanced techniques e.g. piping), Royal Icing (piping and making 3 consistencies), Non-Dairy Whipped cream – how to whip and designs, Fresh cream – how to make and use, Whipped Ganache: crumb-coating a cake with it and decorating with it. SMBC: how to make and decorate with it. How to make fondant (two recipes) and  gumpaste. Techniques taught: tall cakes, stencils, air-brushing, painting on cake, writing cursive on cakes, Basic Chocolate decorations using molds, Sugar flowers: un-wired (4 types) and wired flowers (3 flowers), Wafer paper; how to use it to decorate cake – Basic designs. Fondant decoration techniques: tall cakes, quilting design, how to use molds for borders & how to use silicone mats.

Class videos will only be available for that duration of time; after that you will no longer have access. You will get all recipes and templates for the class as files that you can save or print. Baking with Amari offers learning experiences to those who want to experience & know what Bakers & Cake Decorators do in a practical, hands-on settting. We train our students using Cookswell original charcoal ovens. We also offer basic business start-up training for those who want to start small baking businesses.
