Group training is generally done at the group’s site location or bakery workshop. The training can be conducted at our home-based bakery workshop; however conditions & charges may apply. · Baking equipment and ingredients are provided by the group, a list of requirements will be given for proper planning. –  Courses offered for group trainings are the Basic courses. Group trainings should not have less than 5 participants or more than 14 participants. If the group training is outside Nairobi county; transport, accommodation & meals for the instructor are catered for by the group. -Individual can choose any of our courses to take on a one-on-one basis; quotation will be provided. -Individual can also choose to pick between 3 – 4 products to learn per session. -Sessions will be held at our bakery workshop location. We don’t offer at home training. Sessions held in our bakery workshop start at 6,000/-

REQUIREMENTS FOR STARTING THE BAKING CLASSES

  • Full payment to book your spot; Please make sure to visit the bakery workshop to know the place before start of the class(es)
  • Kitchen Hand Cloth
  • Face Mask (this is optional, you can wear one if you feel the need. We do not enforce this)
  • Wear or Carry 2nd pair of shoes for classes: closed, flat, kitchen-safe shoes
  • Notebook & pen for notes taken in each session
  • Food Handlers’ Certificate (where required– full course)
  • Be Punctual to class – at least 10 minutes before start of class.

P/S: Our regular/longer courses have a practical test on the last session (or last 2 sessions) to check progress & proficiency. You will be briefed on test details and regulations by your instructor.

*Please be punctual to class at all times; if you arrive more than two hours late to the class; you cannot attend the session. Money will NOT be refunded for any session missed by a student, it is your duty to plan ahead & attend each session as scheduled.

*For Individuals wanting to join Intermediate or Advanced classes and have NOT passed through our Basic training; a theory test WILL be required & a practical test may apply before you are booked into our classes. This is to ensure continuity, consistency & that the individual is in the right level of skill to join the class.

P/S: We may also suggest 1 or 2 paid class sessions before class with an instructor to bring you up to speed with our methods & techniques.

TAKE HOME:

  • You take home the products you bake each time.
  • You receive recipes for all products covered in the class.
  • You will receive a Baking/Decorating Kit at the end of class, with a few tools to use from what you’ve learned from each course you attend.
  • You receive a Certificate of Participation after end of course; with the hours you attend in class. (Please note this is not a national certificate, we’re currently not a TVET Certified institution at this time. We’re a Bakery workshop offering learning experiences for those looking to know what Bakers & Cake decorators do in a practical, hands-on setting. We are NOT a College)

We provide the ingredients for the class as well as equipment.

After course completion; the apron/dust-coat & chef hat is the property of Amari, you leave it after you complete the class.

If you would like to purchase an apron or chef hat; we have them for sale – please inquire with the instructor.

Costs above are for group classes (2 to 6 people per class); if you would like one-on-one classes – different rates apply (starting at 6,000/- per session of 4-5 hours please check for information above.)

Note that we use original Cookswell charcoal ovens in our baking, as well as the baking classes.

We sometimes hold periodical baking classes in other counties i.e. Nakuru & Nyeri.
