As a Baker or Bakerette running a home-baking business; marketing your business on Social media is not an option; it’s a necessity. You need to build your Baking Business brand and grow your following in order to have a sustainable business that can eventually be successful enough for you to open a Bakery shop with time.
Below are the Social media apps or sites you need to have in order to level up and be consistent on your Social media marketing. You can visit their sites to use them; however, I would also suggest if you have a smart phone – to download their apps as well in order to maximize usage at all times.
1.Facebook
It’s a great opportunity for your small baking business to make online sales, get a following around your brand, create a platform where customers can discuss the products and share feedback. You can also use it for customer service on Messenger. Majority of your Target market is also found on Facebook. You can create a Business Page for your Baking Brand as well as a personal page. You also have the option of creating a group where you can nurture a community or following of brand “fans”. Click here to join our Amari Online Community group.

Instagram is a very visual platform where skilled Bakers are able to shine when they share their cakes & baked products. A majority of your target market will be on the platform; therefore you can attract them to your brand by sharing your work and getting potential clients to engage with your brand. There are various tools to use on Instagram to share content and different sides of your baking business e.g. regular posts (images or videos up to 58 seconds long), IGTV (long-form video of up to 10 minutes if you have less than 10,000 followers), IG Stories (share pics or 15 second videos that last 24 hours) – you have various options of sharing ^_^
You can also get a lot of inspiration from other Bakers on Instagram from all over the world! ^_^ Click here to follow us (if you don’t already) and see the tips, recipes & tutorials we’re sharing on our Instagram page.
Canva
Canva is a free picture editing tool you can use to edit your photos and create various types of graphics such as Menus, price-lists, banners, infographs (like the one below on this post’s topic ^_^) and social media posters. You can also create pictorials and water-mark your photos. They also have a paid version for more sophisticated editing if you would like where you can create a Logo for your business if you would like to give it a try. You can go to the site: www.canva.com or download the Canva app on your phone. If you’re not sure how to use Canva; you can check out their many tutorials and then get started.

Pinterest is an online platform for collecting and organizing images. It’s the perfect platform for Bakers looking for inspiration in baking and especially cake decoration. You can visit their site or download the app to start pinning. Create Boards for various cake decorations or recipes to try out later. You can also start pinning and collecting your own baked projects on pinterest as well. Click here to follow us on Pinterest and see what we’re pinning ^_^
Planoly

Planoly is an Instagram management platform that allows users to plan, manage & schedule Instagram posts. If you’re a busy Baker looking for a way to keep up with IG posting; this tool will help greatly. You can go to their site and/or download their app as well.
