We’re very excited to be holding our first event for bakers in Nairobi and our first open day for Amari. The Amari Open Day and Bakers Fair will be held this Saturday on December 17th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Friends Church Grounds off Ngong Rd (Prestige area).
We are so grateful to our students, supporters and fans and this is the only way we can think of expressing our gratitude and giving back to them. This is a free event; there’s no price at the gate. We will also be holding a Raffle competition, we will be giving the winners baking tools and classes. For the raffle competition though – you have to sign up before the day of the event and you also have to be present to win the prize announced. Click here to enter the raffle competition.
This is an event for home bakers, small baking business owners and any individual who wants to know more about the baking industry in Kenya. We will have vendors present on that day to showcase their wares; which will also be on sale. We will have cake baking, decoration demonstrations, as well as Q&A sessions with a home baker and a small discussion on how to start up a small baking business in Kenya.
If you’re not decided on whether to attend or not…let me share with you just a few reasons why you must not miss this event if you are in the baking industry or intend to know more about it.
1) You get to meet baking equipment, cake accessories & ingredients vendors
If you’re new in the industry or you’re just starting a small baking business; you need to know where to buy your equipment, supplies and ingredients at better prices – as opposed to supermarkets and other regular shops. These vendors specialize in stocking items specifically suited to bakers at very good prices. You can also come that day prepared to purchase those goods as well. Examples of what will be available are baking tins, measuring & mixing baking tools, cake decoration tools, cake boxes & boards, food colors, icing sugar, cocoa powder, sprinkles, charcoal ovens, etc. Make sure you come prepared to make purchases ^_^
2) We will be having awesome demonstrations
We will have a rose flower sugar craft demonstration by the lovely Evelyn Gichuki of Purple Sugarcraft who is a certified sugar craft expert. She’ll also be taking questions about her work and you can get to find out the types of classes she holds and if you can join them.
We will also have the awesome folks from Cookswell Energy saving jikos, they’ll demonstrate for us how to light a Cookswell charcoal oven and we’ll show you how to bake cookies with them as well ^_^
We’ll also have a small talk from a home-baker who is also the creator of The Bakers Club as well – she’ll share her experience and insights as a home-baker, as well as answer questions.
I will also be having a small talk about how to startup a small baking business and I will answer all your questions on what you need and how to plan for starting a small baking business as well.
3) We’ll have a raffle competition where there will be awesome prizes to win
We’re having a raffle competition where participants have to sign up before the day of the Bakers’ Fair in order to win the prizes.
The rules are simple: Sign up via email to get you raffle code – deadline to sign up is December 16th, 2016 – midnight. You’ll get a raffle code sent to your email. Attend the fair and make sure you’re present at 4.30 pm for the raffle draw. You can only win if you’re present during the raffle draw. Click on this link to sign up.
4) Get to learn more about Amari and take advantage of the discounts we have this month
We’ll be having discounts on all our available baking classes starting that day til the end of December – come learn more about the discounts as well as what types of baking classes we offer and sign up for a class in January.
We’ll also have recipe books for sale on that day as well as our book on “How to Startup a Small Bakery Business“. Our other E-books will be on sale as well such as the Cake Pricing E-book. Come meet Team Amari and learn more about us ^_^
I’m sure by now you definitely won’t miss the Fair. Come ready to learn more about the baking industry as a home baker, small baking business owner or as an individual who wants to get into the baking industry. You’ll get to meet other bakers and network with them. Meet vendors who sell baking industry items and network with them as well. You will also get the chance to purchase baking supplies, equipment and ingredients – so make sure you come prepared.
Thanks so much – can’t wait to meet you there. Make sure you pass through the Amari stand, introduce yourself and say hi ^_^
See you on Saturday!
